Welcome to Threshold – ”The Edge Before Everything Changes”.
Why Threshold?
A threshold is the edge before everything changes. The line between hesitation and action. It’s the moment right before a workout when quitting is still an option, but so is showing up. Sometimes it’s as small as putting on your running clothes instead of staying in your home outfit; a tiny decision that quietly decides the rest of your day. Reaching that edge takes perseverance, a little confidence, and often nothing more than the willingness to push past the version of you that wants to stay comfortable.
That’s the space this blog lives in. Not the after-photos or the finish lines, but the threshold itself, and everything it takes to cross it.
About Me
My name is Abdi, and before I ever wrote a line about fitness, I was studying medicine at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. I hold a bachelor’s degree in medicine and spent time working in clinical settings – time I spent surrounded by evidence, diagnostics, and the kind of scrutiny that separates what’s true from what merely sounds true.
Somewhere along the way, my other passion, fitness and health, collided with that clinical mindset. And the more I looked at the fitness world from the outside, the more one thing bothered me: it’s saturated with opinions dressed up as facts. Bold claims, miracle routines, supplement hype, “hacks” that sound convincing but collapse the moment you ask for a source.
That’s why I started Threshold.
My goal is simple: to give you facts, not noise. Every article here is built on the same standard I was trained to apply in medicine – look at the evidence, question the claim, and separate what’s clinically supported from what’s just popular. You deserve to make decisions about your body and health based on something more solid than a confident Instagram caption.
What you’ll find here
Threshold is organized around five areas I think matter most:
- News: what’s actually happening in fitness, health, and nutrition research and culture, without the spin.
- Exercise: training methods, techniques, and programming grounded in what actually produces results – not just what’s trending.
- Nutrition: practical, evidence-informed guidance on eating for performance, health, and longevity, cutting through diet-culture noise.
- Health: the broader picture: recovery, injury prevention, and the physiology behind how your body actually adapts and improves.
- Research: deeper dives into studies and clinical evidence, translated into plain language so you can actually use it.
